Domestic Residential – Completed

"Armadale" is a development consisting of 2 townhouses designed by renowned Architect Robert Mills. Stage 1 of the project was the 500m2 basement with parking for over 7 cars, turntable, associated habitable rooms and the crowning feature, a curved staircase that will encase a private lift to each townhouse. The clients brief for stage 1 was simple - The walls and ceiling were to have no visible pipe work as you drove into the basement and parked the cars. For this, we worked closely with both the Architect and Engineer - to achieve a very successful outcome.

As Stage 1 was completed in November 2014, we progressed with Stage 2, the 2 Townhouses. Well, there were some challenges however we overcame and adapted to these and moved forward. The photos in our gallery of the curved staircase will help display the complexity of works we are capable of.

The level of finish is always that delicate balance between budget and manpower. We at Grandcon are of the opinion that if the client is able to save where possible to allow extra for the Finishes Budget, the project will achieve a greater result than expected and this was one such project. With careful planning and construction methods, the client increased the Finishes Budget to which the completed project has netted a higher capital value than first expected.

We are so thankful of the privilege our clients gave us to create their first home, built from the ground up.

Wheelers Hill Residence 1
One of Grandcon’s first projects, Wheelers Hill in captures the old world charm of a French provincial home while providing the functionality of a new age home. High end finishes coupled with large open spaces, give a feeling of space while still providing a family home feeling.

Pool House, Toorak
This small addition is an example of Grandcon's versitility within the building industry. The pool house provides the client with a functional area for storage of pool equipment. The pool house contains a wash closet for use while outside as well as an extra car parking space.
